Microsoft Windows Runtime

The Microsoft Windows Runtime (also known as WinRT) is a runtime environment developed by Microsoft to create applications for various platforms such as desktop computers, tablets, mobile phones and Xbox. WinRT is part of the Windows operating system and provides an API (Application Programming Interface) that allows developers to create applications using a variety of languages and frameworks such as C++, C#, Visual Basic, JavaScript and HTML5.
