Failed Dependency

Official
There is no indispensable dependence

General explanation of the 424 status code

The HTTP status code 424 Failed Dependency indicates that a request could not be executed because it depends on another action or resource that previously failed. This error typically occurs in systems where multiple processes or steps must work together. For example, a server might fail to execute a request because a previous database query or connection to an external service was unsuccessful. This means that the main request can only work if all required dependencies are fulfilled correctly. This makes it clear to the user that the desired action cannot currently be completed because there is a problem in an upstream process. The solution lies in rectifying the underlying error to which the status code refers.

Specification of the HTTP status code 424

The 424 Failed Dependency status code means that the method could not be performed on the resource because the requested action depended on another action and that action failed. For example, if a command in a PROPPATCH method fails, then, at minimum, the rest of the commands will also fail with 424 Failed Dependency.
